Utility Company Materials

Both private and municipal utility officials are very interested in ending the conflict between tree limbs and overhead wires. Toward this end, they often provide local guides to encourage planting the right trees under or near their lines or even near buried utilities. These are usually top quality publications, sometimes in booklet format, or sometimes printed as calendars, posters, or tags on trees at nurseries.

To find out if your local utility has tree-related materials, phone and ask for either the customer relations office or the utility forester.
